    Calling all future innovators and leaders! YES TO STEM (Youth Educating Students Through Outreach in STEM) is an exciting new program designed to connect high school students with the STEM workforce through hands-on experience and leadership.

    As a Junior Project Coordinator & STEM Leader, you’ll take charge—researching, designing, planning, and leading STEM lessons for elementary students! Not only will you spark a love for STEM in young minds, but you’ll also build critical workplace skills like time management, teamwork, and problem-solving—skills that set you up for future success!

    💡 What will you teach? That’s up to YOU! Each lesson will be student-led, showcasing different areas of science, technology, engineering, and math in creative and engaging ways.

    Are you ready to lead, inspire, and make an impact? Say YES TO STEM and help shape the next generation of young scientists and engineers!

    🚀 Turn Your App Idea into Reality with the Congressional App Challenge! 💡📲

    Do you have an idea for an app that could change lives? Now’s your chance to bring it to life and compete in the Congressional App Challenge, proudly sponsored by CGI!

    👩‍💻 Who Can Join?
    Middle and high school coders are invited to apply and join a team! With guidance from expert mentors, you’ll design, build, and launch your very own interactive app over six weeks.

    🏆 What’s at Stake?
    Once your app is complete, it will be judged by your district’s U.S. Representative—and if you win, you’ll score an all-inclusive trip to meet Congress alongside a parent!

Southern Appalachian Science and Engineering Fair

Be a part of a YO-STEM sponsored Southern Appalachian Science and Engineering Fair (SASEF) team! YO-STEM is looking to sponsor five projects for individuals or groups to participate in this fun, yet competitive yearly event.

All middle and high school students of Knoxville are welcome to apply by August 31, 2025.

The first 5 applicants will receive sponsorship!
