Girls in STEM (gSTEM)
Girls in STEM (gSTEM) is a program for girls by girls! Every Wednesday from 4:30-5:30, we gather to do fun experiments to learn more about STEM. We’ve done everything from learning how to make a camera from scratch to studying the mutations of fruit flies and even creating batteries from fruits and vegetables! All experiments are taught by women who are experts in STEM fields such as chemistry, physics, engineering and more! With gSTEM, you will meet and interact with middle to high school age girls weekly to dive a little further into the four STEM subject areas!
“I knew I wanted to go into science, but when I met a scientist that looked like me, I knew I could do it.”
— Jahneulie W., previous gSTEM student
